What is AV dry hire?
AV dry hire means renting professional audio-visual equipment without booking a technician to install or operate it. It's a practical option if you already have the knowledge and experience to set up and use the equipment safely.
With dry hire, the customer is responsible for the equipment during the agreed hire period under the hire terms. If you need help choosing, installing or operating equipment, Hillside can discuss other levels of technical support.

When collection isn't practical.
For larger sound systems, multiple screens, lighting packages or substantial staging requirements, Hillside can arrange equipment delivery where practical.
Equipment delivery is free within 20 miles of Castlemorton. Mileage charges apply beyond that radius, with any other transport requirements or minimum booking value confirmed in the quotation. Setup, installation and technician time are separate services where required.
Delivered equipment-only hire still requires the customer or their team to have suitable experience to install and operate it. Installation and technical operation can be discussed as separate services where needed.

Larger requirements are quoted individually, including transport and any additional support.
Extra equipment for your production.
Hillside supports AV companies, production suppliers and technical teams who need equipment to supplement their own inventory. That might be a specific component, additional screen or sound equipment, lighting or staging for a particular job.
Collection is available by arrangement, and delivery can be considered for suitable bookings. Short-notice enquiries are welcome, subject to equipment availability and practical arrangements.
Equipment rather than a whole production
Trade dry hire is for teams who can manage the installation and operation. If you need extra technicians, installation crew or production coordination as well, see Event Production & Technical Crew.

Know the terms before you hire.
Professional equipment needs suitable transport, handling and technical knowledge. Dry-hire customers are responsible for equipment during the agreed hire period, subject to the contract.
Insurance and hire agreement
Appropriate hired-in equipment insurance or another form of cover accepted by Hillside may be required to protect against loss, theft or damage. Collection, returns, liability and insurance requirements should be confirmed before booking. Contact Hillside to discuss suitability and request the applicable equipment hire terms.
Staging, rigging and more technically demanding equipment is only suitable for customers with the skills and arrangements needed for safe use.
